J.C. Fischer Grand Piano #147417 (1923)

The old pinblock in the piano was severely damaged. Amazingly, I had tuned this piano to A=440 two years previously.
Soundboard and bridges after removing plate with one ton chain hoist.
Plate refinishing.
Serial number decal applied.
Hitch pin felt punchings.
Drilling the new pinblock. Gray apparatus on right is a Vortex Spot Chiller which keeps the drill bit cool for consistent size holes to ensure uniform tightness of tuning pins.
New damper action installed.
Pinblock and plate installed over refinished and polished soundboard with triangular Fischer decal.
Beginning of restringing.
Restringing continues.
